The Minaret of the Umayyad Mosque of Aleppo (a Unesco World Heritage site) was built in 1090.
In April 2013 The Minaret has been destroyed during the war in Syria.
In situations where heritage sites are either destroyed or damaged, Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) can play an important role in reconstruction these sites especially in war zones like Syria.
This App is an approach to reconstructed the minaret by using Augmented Reality (AR) which can run om Android 5 and up and has been optimized to run smoothly.
The 3D model don't represent the actual shape and dimension of the minaret for two reasons:
1- I didn't have enough data o build an accurate model for the minaret.
2- Even if I have had enough data to build an accurate model, I will not do it because the minaret has too much complex details which if modeled like this it will not be able to run on mobile phone hardware.
